Sketches I do to and from work…

Actually I’m not interested in mere verisimilitude- plodding at making it “look” like the thing , with careful shading, etc. I’m interested in capturing at a glance the emotional/physical/spatial “gravity” of the subject. I want to develop this type of ” glance “, a glance that takes everything in- transforming all of THAT, condensing/compacting all the subtleties into a few lines. every stroke has to carry this “unbearable lightness of being “…This is beyond optics. It’s as if you’ve stripped all your skin off, and you’re feeling the world with exposed nerves…mere facility isn’t my goal.
