loneliness has weight like water fit for drowning

and in her moment of weakness and panic

these straws, mere flotsam and hollow

will be her saviors

promising all and nothing

when will we learn

we are born hollow

all these are husks we learn to grow into

and time and place and the seduction of habit

obscures the bare clarity of our shells

we remain in place simply because we choose to

hardened like barnacles

so why stay and why leave

two points make a line, the shortest distance

( yet distance nonetheless)

tangents of the heart and mind

connects the dots, completes a scheme

the geometry is in the wanting

the law : in the desiring

between two points

loneliness is like air-

we breathe  half aware

until the lack

This was such an intriguing read and had me pondering it for a few minutes before I simply smiled in understanding. 🙂 Wonderful poem. And those drawings are splendid!
