New Yolk City

June 1, 2012

new york city is porous

like bagel  thrown at birds luminescing  in  parks

hollow subway arteries , drumbeats

addling your  ventricles  making you stride  funny

hydra eyes staring  down  rent-controlled towers

voices pontificating  in the tunnels, trapped like pompeii’s  ghosts-

it is never concrete,  never iron or steel or velvet banners

it’s the slivers of sunlight and water  between the railings of bridges

loops of graffiti  gyrating like jinns above  gasping sewers-

snapshots  in the screeching  glass-

vapour,   past midnight

from  chinatown   soup

( yes, YOLK…and random highlights of my art since 2009  when I moved to NYC- new and old all mixed up )
